Recovery is non-negotiable: you can recover on your own terms or on the terms burnout sets when it inevitably catches up to you. The choice is yours.
The burnout process has been divided into 12 phases by psychologists Herbert Freudenberger and Gail North.
Burnout is temporary, but brownout can have long-term, lasting effects.
